Hello and welcome to the POPE BISECT website, home of the Travelboard. The concept of a Travelboard was conceived in 1964 by Karl Pope. Almost 40 years ago, Karl saw that there was a need for a surfboard that could break down to a compact size for ease of travel and then quickly assembled for surfing. From the beginning, the goal was ONE PIECE PERFORMANCE WITH TWO PIECE CONVENIENCE. Karl's first design was the three piece "Trisect" which evolved over time into the present day two piece "Bisect" system. Thanks to advances in aerospace technology, construction methods and materials, todays "Travelboard" is not only practical, but surfs like a one piece surfboard.
